| WinRecs Overview The WinRecs Suite of Modules is a state-of-the-art coding and abstracting system designed to increase productivity while assisting with quality assurance for Health Information Management departments. Unlike many other software products, WinRecs has been designed by the true experts - our clients. Additional features and functionality are incorporated to ensure that when requirements change for Health Information Management departments, our system is ready to assist the user.
Currently WinRecs is being utilized for full provincial systems, regional systems and individual facility systems. It provides the required flexibility through user customization. The system provides many features which result in maximizing productivity, increasing data quality and providing accurate reports.
The WinRecs Suite of Modules includes modules that assist with abstracting (DAD, NACRS and MDS), associated Groupers, Chart Maintenance, encoding, security and clinical data collection. Sort Ordering of Fields - As hospitals may have their own variation of the order of data input, end users can sort order the WinRecs fields on the main grid to follow the flow of data from within the individual facilities' patient record or to their personal preference.
User-Defined Edit checks - Facilities can define specific edit checks in their system to ensure that hospital required fields are captured along with the Mandatory CIHI elements. This will provide the tool for data accuracy and proper reporting.
Free User-Defined Fields - Facilities have the ability to utilize free fields in the abstract modules without the intervention or assistance of MED2020. Available fields include free text, numeric, date, time and look up with the ability to assign edits.
Integrated Reports Library - A full compliment of standard reports are included in the system. Users can run the reports directly from the system with the ability to modify them if they have Crystal Reports installed on their PC.
Report Distribution - Reports can be accessed directly from the main grid and set up to distribute to numerous people simultaneously through fax or e-mail.
User Customization - Each user can customize their system to better suit their needs. Default values, enable/disable fields changing the name of the field and modifying the display viewing area are just a few examples.
Real Time Edit Management - All edits are displayed on the main grid in real time, allowing the user to view all outstanding errors prior to completing the abstract. By selecting the error, the system will go directly to that error for correction.
Contains Provincial and National Fields and Edit Requirement - MED2020 ensures that each province has a system that is designed to submit the required data and includes all the required edits for that province as part of the base system without the need to have special customization.
Interface Capabilities - WinRecs has the ability to interface to and from virtually any other hospital system. Through the use of Batch or HL7 (Real-Time) interfaces, the transfer of this data is seamless to the end user.
